The Union Cabinet chaired by honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi had approved the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to set-up Infrastructure Investment Trust(s) (InvIT) in December 2019. This is the first InvIT sponsored by Government of India and Semi-Government entities as a primary objective to attract investments for the Infrastructure projects. The idea is to set up a competent entity of experts that can professionally run the Infrastructure Trust to mobilize resources from the market for monetizing completed highway projects of NHAI. As part of launching the InVIT, NHAI has hired Suresh Goyal, former India Head & Senior Managing Director, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets - MIRA (India) as the MD & CEO of the upcoming InvIT. Besides Mr Suresh Goyal, the newly set up board consists of B Sriram, (former Managing Director & CEO of IDBI Bank) as chairman, Shailendra N Roy (former director at L&T Group) and MP Sharma as independent directors.
1. Strategic Planning
- Create a vision for ITS within the organisation, communicate it to employees, partners & Authority and lead and motivate the team to achieve the vision.
- Develop an ITS (TMS & ATMS) strategy which identifies the future direction of the use of technology throughout the concession period.
- To identify solutions and opportunities to improve organisational & projects performance. Evaluate business requirements, prepare and present proposals, design and deliver solutions to meet business objectives.
2. Project Management
-Complete delivery management for projects from preparation of RFP, Managing Projects and Operations.
- Short listing, Finalisation of Service providers based on Technical capabilities and Organisation expectations (Business needs, budget etc).
-Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities. Prepare and implement project plans to achieve the desired outcomes.
-Team leading and team management.
-Coordination with stakeholders viz. NHAI, Local Administration, Partners and Independent Engineers.
3. Supplier Management
-Procure, negotiate, manage and monitor of contracts for services provided by third parties ensuring effective service delivery.
- Manage the relationships with contractors and suppliers
4. Leadership and Management
-Lead by example as a senior domain expert and contribute to the development, implementation and review of Company’s corporate strategies, annual project plans, policies and procedures.
-Develop and maintain positive relationships with key partners and stakeholders.
-Ensure effective management of team and resources promoting team building and collaborative working to deliver the corporate plan.
5. Operations
- Managing Ops Budget and resources.
- Managing System performance and uptime as the business needs.
- Project Life Cycle Management and Coordination.
- System Auditing and Ops Revenue Auditing.
- ATMS operations Management.
- Takes decisions on matters relating to the day to day Systems & Toll/ATMS operation within their defined work area including the strategic planning of resources.
- Creation and implementation of System Policies and procedures.
- TCMS and ATMS Ops MIS reporting for business optimization.
- Responsible for Training to Ops staff for efficient and effective use of TCMS and ATMS.
- Regularly produce and present a range of financial/non financial System & Ops reports to the Management as required.
