The Union Cabinet chaired by honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi had approved the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to set-up Infrastructure Investment Trust(s) (InvIT) in December 2019. This is the first InvIT sponsored by Government of India and Semi-Government entities as a primary objective to attract investments for the Infrastructure projects. The idea is to set up a competent entity of experts that can professionally run the Infrastructure Trust to mobilize resources from the market for monetizing completed highway projects of NHAI. As part of launching the InVIT, NHAI has hired Suresh Goyal, former India Head & Senior Managing Director, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets - MIRA (India) as the MD & CEO of the upcoming InvIT. Besides Mr Suresh Goyal, the newly set up board consists of B Sriram, (former Managing Director & CEO of IDBI Bank) as chairman, Shailendra N Roy (former director at L&T Group) and MP Sharma as independent directors.

Job Profile:

  • Directly responsible for financial accounting, audit, risk, corporate finance and statutory compliances –preparation of consolidated financial statements and statutory audit
  • Ability to manage multiple Banking and debt capital markets relationships for effective fund raising to deliver innovative and competitive financing solutions
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of annual budget with various departments, financial forecasts, and report variances. To develop the MIS structure (dashboards) as may be required by the management
  • Governance and Control : Ability to build controls and governance within the organization with a robust framework encompassing all departments & functions
  • Risk management –ensure coverage against financial as well as operating risks by streamlining of business processes and policies
  • Compliances for direct and indirect tax requirements, GST, secretarial, legal and other statutory compliances. Also ability to manage import / export related transactions
  • Manage the expectations of the stakeholders through providing them monthly MIS, accounts, cash flows statements, and legal compliance reports
  • Systems & Processes would be an integral part of the role; ability to set up systems and establish robust and scalable processes with the appropriate risk mitigation to be put into place
  • Closely work with all department heads to ensure expenditures, adhere to legal and budgetary requirements

Candidate Profile:

  • A Chartered accountant with 20 + years of experience is a must for this role
  • MBA /ICWA equivalent qualification along with CA degree would be an added advantage.
  • Strong business orientation; experience of managing P&L and building scale in an asset heavy and regulated set-up(Infrastructure /O&G / Heavy Engineering / utility)
  • High on Integrity & energy
  • Strong leadership ability to build, manage and motivate teams
  • Should come with a strong experience in raising funds either through debt or equity
  • A self-starter who needs minimal supervisory control, Entrepreneurial mind-set with a high degree of passion and drive
