The Union Cabinet chaired by honourable Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi had approved the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to set-up Infrastructure Investment Trust(s) (InvIT) in December 2019. This is the first InvIT sponsored by Government of India and Semi-Government entities as a primary objective to attract investments for the Infrastructure projects. The idea is to set up a competent entity of experts that can professionally run the Infrastructure Trust to mobilize resources from the market for monetizing completed highway projects of NHAI. As part of launching the InVIT, NHAI has hired Suresh Goyal, former India Head & Senior Managing Director, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets - MIRA (India) as the MD & CEO of the upcoming InvIT. Besides Mr Suresh Goyal, the newly set up board consists of B Sriram, (former Managing Director & CEO of IDBI Bank) as chairman, Shailendra N Roy (former director at L&T Group) and MP Sharma as independent directors.

Job Profile:

  • Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
  • Taking the lead for various governance compliance and regulatory issues including internal policy compliance, export control and anti-bribery compliance, competition law/antitrust compliance, health and safety issues, environmental issues and trade-law matters
  • Providing corporate consulting in a wide range of legal issues viz. Electricity laws, Corporate laws, Environmental law and also Court practice and procedures
  • •Responsible for assessing, documenting and reporting on ABC compliance issues in the company, by implementing Global policies and processes, and assisting in the continuous improvement of these processes
  • Designing and updating self-assessments, compliance plans, risk and control manuals, money laundering policies and procedures, etc. for all key areas of liabilities business
  • Developing and Reviewing operations to ensure and assess compliance of branches and support units with regulatory policies as well as internally specified policies
  • Continuous up gradation of control tools and platforms to keep pace with the fast increasing volume and geographical spread of business operations
  • Conduct compliance reviews by planning approach, conducting reviews, reporting on results, making recommendations, and following up on implementation of recommendations
  • Issues communications and conduct training for general awareness on compliance processes and procedures.
  • Responsible for training team on all aspects of Compliance

Candidate Profile:

  • 15 years + of experience in handling the Compliance role
  • Post Graduate / CA / Law / Company Secretary qualification
  • Knowledge of U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), U.K. Bribery Act, and anti-bribery regulatory regimes
  • Experience in developing compliance policies and procedures
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to influence peers and seniors across functions
  • Ability to think and write clearly and critically and respond to the time-sensitive needs of the business
