Breaking Down Barriers; The Naina Lal Kidwai Way | EX-CEO & Country Head, HSBC India | EP 14 | Qunba

Spread the love

Naina Lal Kidwai comes as close to a real life Captain Marvel as any leader possibly can. A pioneer of numerous firsts. She was the first Indian woman to graduate from Harvard Business School, the first woman to be hired by PriceWaterhouse in India, the first woman to lead a foreign bank in India with HSBC and the first woman president of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

She dared to go where no woman had ventured, leaving in her wake a generation of inspired followers. In a career spanning over 30 years, Naina Lal Kidwai has overcome deep-rooted gender biases to become one of India’s foremost leaders in banking and finance.

Away from the dealing rooms, she is passionate about protecting the environment and improving sanitation. This is reflected in her engagements with the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, the Global Commission on Economy and Climate as well as being the Chairperson of the India Sanitation Coalition.

We will be back next week with more insights from India’s top leadership.
